Think Local First | DC Locals Mean Business!

December’s DC Local Music Day is Wednesday, December 7th!

For the last two months between 20-30 local businesses across the city partnered with Listen Local First and Think Local First, to promote our awesome and diverse local music community. DC Local Music Day received massive media attention with articles in the Washington City Paper and The Washington Post as well as in many local blogs and media outlets.

Starting This Month:
The Stream- is yours to use for the month. We ask that everyone stream together on Dec 7th, then you are all free to use the stream for special occasions throughout the month of December.

Local Music Holiday Compilation- We are working on getting download cards of the album that will be available at all locations if you all are interested.

Featured Artists are going to make themselves available to all of you for the month. If you all would like to sell some of their CD’s in store or get some of them to perform live, we can facilitate those introductions and discussions for you.

Special Note
We are re working on our website and bulking up for 2012 so after December, we will be taking January off and coming back in full force February 1st.

How to Participate?
Participating business will simply need either a internet connection that is hooked up to their sound system or a way to stream an MP3 file of the playlist we would provide for you. In order to conform to the legalities of public performances of music, and to support and pay the musicians, each business will be asked to pay a $20 fee each month in order to participate. This fee will be collected from each business and will be divided evenly between the 8 local featured artists. A small fee to support local music and internet connected to your music system is all we ask of you in order to be considered a maverick in support of local music.

Participation Fees
Participating Business December Only- $20 covers participation fees for December. Participating businesses will be listed on the website and Facebook Event Page.

Participating Business November and December– $40 covers participation fees for November and December. Participating businesses will be listed on the website and Facebook Event Page.

Sponsorship Opportunity
Local Music Supporter – Under $100 business logo will be featured on the LLF website
Partner Sponsors –$100 – $500 businesses and their logo will be featured on the LLF website, and on the DC Local Music Day Facebook Page. A Partner Sponsorship will apply for the November and December Events.

Title Sponsor – Over $500 business will have a banner on the top of our website and have their name prominently displayed on all Facebook and printed material. Additionally a Title Sponsorship will apply to all LLF events from now through 2012.
