Washington Area Community Investment Fund

The Washington Area Community Investment Fund, Inc. (WACIF) is a nonprofit community development loan fund whose mission is to empower underserved communities and individuals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area by providing access to capital and technical assistance to small businesses, childcare centers, affordable housing developers, and community organizations.¬
WACIF manages three loan funds:
• WACIF’s Access to Capital Loan Fund (ACLF)
CBE Microloan Fund
SBA Microloan Fund
WACIF’s Access to Capital Loan Fund (ACLF)
Comprised of 55 socially responsible institutional and individual investors, WACIF’s Access to Capital Loan Fund (ACLF) is a flexible financing pool available for small businesses, childcare centers, affordable housing developers, and community organizations. The fund looks to maximize both economic and social returns by providing affordable financing to create jobs, retain wealth in low- to moderate-income communities, and ensure healthy neighborhoods.
CBE Microloan Fund
The Certified Business Enterprise Revolving Microloan Fund (CBE RMLF) is a public/private partnership between the District of Columbia’s Department of Small and Local Business Development and WACIF. The fund is dedicated for CBEs and has a maximum loan amount of $25,000.
SBA Microloan Fund
WACIF is a certified SBA microlender and technical assistance provider for Region III (District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Maryland).
To access capital through WACIF, potential clients begin my filling out our intake form which can be found on our website at www.wacif.org. WACIF will contact you to determine your current borrowing capacity and the most appropriate source of funds.

ECDC Enterprise Development Group

ECDC Enterprise Development Group (EDG) is a SBA Microloan Program Intermediary and non-profit: EDG provides loans throughout the greater DC area. EDG offers microenterprise loans ranging from $500 to $50,000 for entrepreneurs and small business owners who are seeking to start, sustain, or expand a business. We are interested in working with startup or existing green business. The average loan size is $15,000 to $16,000, the average loan term is three years and the current interest rate is 8.9%.
